This year it’s the landmark special effects-driven blockbuster 'The Life of Moses' (1909). Coming in at a gargantuan (for the era) 50 minutes, the popularity of this Vitagraph production was a significant milestone in showing that audiences would turn out for longer fare. This episodic account of the prophet’s life was directed by J. Stuart Blackton.
