The third annual competition for young composers of sacred music concludes with this event in the historic setting of the royal Kirk of Holyrood House. The Sacred Arts Festival Singers, under their director Calum Robertson, with organist Max Carsley, perform the winning compositions in the 2026 competition. This year’s Principal Adjudicator, Cecilia McDowall, one of the UK’s leading composers of sacred and secular choral music, will comment on the winning compositions, and the programme will include some of her own compositions. This event is generously funded by the CHRISTIAN ARTS TRUST, with additional support from the EDINBURGH SOCIETY OF ORGANISTS, the ROYAL COLLEGE OF ORGANISTS and the WILLIAM BAIRD ROSS TRUST.
